Explained: Everton may have to pay £4.5m and £2m in wages to sign 24-year-old

Everton are expected to sign a forward this summer due to a lack of depth in the squad. Theo Walcott and Ademola Lookman also underperformed last season and may find themselves on the periphery.

Marco Silva only has Richarlison and Bernard to rely on next season which is likely to see him scour the transfer market for a new face – Trezeguet is reportedly on his radar.

The Toffees have been linked with a move for the 24-year-old and could battle Watford for his signature. Kasimpasa’s forward has a £4.5m release clause and could accept £2m-a-year in wages.

Trezeguet joined Kasimpasa from RCS Anderlecht in July 2018 and has gone on to make 71 appearances in all competitions, scoring and creating 43 goals. the Egyptian international, who boasts 39 appearances for his country, is also coming off the back of an impressive campaign.

He contributed 19 goals in 38 games last season and helped Kasimpasa finish 14th in the Turkish Super Lig with 39 points from 34 games. Trezeguet had a hand in 34% of his side’s goals in 2018/19. The forward can operate on both flanks and up front and could be a good addition to the Everton squad.

Time will tell if the Blues make a move, however.
