Former Barcelona left-back Lucas Digne was handed his full Everton debut last night in the game against Rotherham United.
Manager Marco Silva gave the 25-year-old a substitute bow in the draw with Wolverhampton Wanderers, but the EFL Cup tie saw the Frenchman make the starting eleven and he didn’t let anyone down following his reported £18million arrival.
With a number of fans having question marks over Leighton Baines, Digne’s performance certainly had the following fans confident that we had signed the right man to eventually replace our long-standing servant permanently.
Nice work by Digne, on his right foot????

HT #EFC 1-0 #RUFC: Nervy start for the Blues but improved as the game progressed. Sandro looked lively while Kenny the stand-out. Sigurdsson, Zouma & Digne have also shone

Having taken a largely comfortable 3-1 victory on the night to book our place in the third round of the competition, Digne was arguably one of our best performers on the night and despite the fact he’s still settling in – and it was a much-changed side – he certainly didn’t look out of place on the flank. Kurt Zouma was also pretty impressive as a few pointed out above.
Bodes well for the future.
