Morgan Schneiderlin put in a fine performance for Everton in Friday’s 2-0 win over Burnley – his sixth outing in the last two months. The central-midfielder has fallen down the pecking order to Idrissa Gueye and Andre Gomes this season, but he impressed when called upon at Goodison Park to cap a return to form in recent weeks.

Tell you what, Morgan Schneiderlin hasn’t put a foot wrong again today👏

Morgan Schneiderlin was utterly brilliantly defensively today, if he wanted to leave in the summer he isn't exactly showing it in the last few games. A good alternative for when Gomes is out.

Against the Clarets, Schneiderlin played a full 90 minutes, made 76 touches, one clearance, 58 passes with 95% accuracy, competed three long passes (60%), drew two fouls, made eight tackles and two interceptions. The 29-year-old featured in only one Premier League game between mid-October and mid-February, but he’s since racked up three consecutive appearances.
Everton’s form has been outstanding since Schneiderlin returned to the side. The Toffees have picked up six wins and two draws from their last 10 Premier League games – 60% of which Schneiderlin has featured in. The French international has made 14 appearances in all competitions this season, making one assist and averaging a tackle (23) or interception (14) every 20 minutes.
The win on Friday left Marco Silva’s men eight in the league with 53 points from 37 games. They also boast eight clean sheets in their previous ten outings. The Merseysiders will wrap up the season against Tottenham Hotspur on May 12.
