Former Everton defender Joleon Lescott has been speaking about our lack of form at the start of this season.
The Blues have been up and down so far this year.
At the start of the campaign we looked pretty sharp and were unbeaten in a handful of games but we were drawing too many.
After that, though, we’ve lost a couple since and so we’ve had a steady but probably below par start given the quality at the club.
Lescott, meanwhile, thinks that that is down to a lack of effort.
Telling 888 sport, he said:
“Everton haven’t started as they would have liked. Having played for them I know there is a level of effort expected from the Everton fans that they aren’t meeting right now.”
I do agree with him a bit and I don’t.
Some players are not pulling their weight but I wouldn’t say that is the case for many and we have had patches of good play.
I think the bigger issue this year has been not taking our chances and just being that bit short going forwards at times.
That’ll come, though, I am sure.
