Ex-Everton Star Linked with Carlo Ancelotti Reunion

|

Real Madrid are reportedly preparing a move for ex-Everton forward Richarlison in a transfer which would see the Brazilian once again link up with former Toffees boss, Carlo Ancelotti.

The 25-year-old made the switch to Spurs in the summer after 4 years at Goodison Park but is already being tipped for a big money move to the Bernabeu, with his exploits at the FIFA World Cup catching the eye of the Spanish giants.

A brace in Brazil’s 2-0 Group G win over Serbia saw the ex-Everton attacker put in a man of the match performance, compounded by a magnificent overhead kick in a moment of sheer brilliance worthy of some of Richarlison’s world class countrymen from years gone by.

A gifted individual, Richarlison’s selflessness and work ethic earned him countless admirers at Goodison Park, as did his proclivity to wind up Liverpool fans on social media. Indeed, his versatility and keen eye for goal, Evertonians have been well aware of Richie’s attributes for some time, but has his quality been overlooked in the wider footballing media until now?

Heavily criticised by Jamie Carragher in particular for alleged theatrics, the perhaps false perception that Richarlison is a diver incensed Everton fans, particularly when Carragher labelled England captain Harry Kane as ‘street wise’ for going to ground easily back in 2020, contradicting his opinion on the Brazilian.

The pundit’s analysis prompted a huge Twitter backlash from Evertonians, with Richarlison himself getting involved, responding to a tweet from Carragher with a GIF of himself celebrating an Everton goal by putting his finger to his lips, as if to shush the ex-Liverpool defender.

Richarlison certainly knew how to endear himself to Everton fans, both on and off the pitch, and his absence at Goodison Park has been sorely felt since his summer departure. No doubt, many Blues will be following his progress with Brazil in Qatar and, if reports linking him with a move to Los Blancos are to be believed, so will the board at Real Madrid.
