On Saturday, Everton took a more than comfortable victory over Brighton and Hove Albion at Goodison Park.
Welcoming Chris Hughton’s side to home soil, a Richarlison brace and an effort from Seamus Coleman gave us a 3-1 victory on the day as we made it four wins in five matches.
Richarlison’s potential £50million price tag certainly set tongues wagging over the summer as he joined from Watford, but he’s more than beginning to repay our investment given his call-up to the Brazilian national side and his brace last weekend took his tally to six goals for the season.
The 21-year-old certainly took the plaudits following the game and plenty of praise and it wasn’t just manager Marco Silva lauding his performance on the day, plenty of pundits were gushing about his efforts as well.
What caught my eye however, was a particular Tweet from the club as somebody has a long memory and hasn’t forgotten Paul Merson’s barb that our capture of him had ‘spoiled’ the summer transfer window.
