Everton’s pulling power this summer seemed to have gone up and Marcel Brands update about the Yerry Mina deal has only served to underline that further.
The defender was linked with us for a long time over the summer with the likes of Manchester United also seeming to be in the frame.
However, we were the ones that got him in and Brands has shown how attractive we are these days by saying that the defender only ever wanted to join us.
He said to the Daily Mail – via Sports Mole:
“That was a bit of gamble because everyone was writing about Man United [wanting Mina] and Barcelona used that, agents used that, everyone used it. The player said constantly to me, ‘I want to go to Everton’.”
I had my doubts at times that the defender actually wanted to come here but Brands seems to think he only wanted to join us and so that is good enough for me.
We’re becoming a more and more attractive club for big players to join and so hopefully we’ll see more of this happen in the coming seasons.
