Everton’s €30m bid for ‘Crazy exciting’ attacker rejected, some fans react: ‘Up the offer’

|

Everton have been knocked back in our pursuit of Juventus forward Moise Kean, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport’s transfer expert Nicolo Schira.

Schira understands the Toffees board recently lodged a €30million (£26.9m) bid for the teenager, widely considered to be one of Europe’s leading young talents having scored six goals in 533 Serie A minutes last season.

Juve were not interested in the proposed offer, however, despite Kean entering the final year of his contract at the Allianz Stadium. Doubt has also been raised over whether Azzurri chiefs feel the 19-year-old’s future lies in Turin following repeated incidents in training, and plans being muted for a raid on Inter Milan for Mauro Icardi.

An offer of €30million was never likely to tempt the Serie A heavyweights, though, as it had already been noted in the Italian media that Juve were prepared to reject a bid in that region for the Vercelli-born star, as they could look to offer the forward a five-year deal.

An improved bid may change their thinking, but the figure would have to be indecent to convince Juve chiefs of the benefits of cashing in, as the Turin side have already discussed his potential inclusion in a player-plus-cash swap deal for Ajax’s Matthijs de Ligt, although the Premier League is seen as a more realistic destination for Kean.

News of our €30million bid being rejected has now sparked a fair amount of reactions on social media, with fans continuing to share their doubt in Marcel Brands adding one of Europe’s hottest properties to Marco Silva’s squad.
