With confirmation of Antonee Robinson’s season-long loan spell out to Championship side Wigan Athletic coming through ahead of the weekend, and the player making the switch in time to make his full debut for them in their clash against Sheffield Wednesday – it’s fair to say he’s already begun impressing his new fans.
Wigan took a 3-2 victory over Wednesday and with our 20-year-old on the left-hand side, he burst forward from defence taking the ball almost to the by-line before whipping in a cross that eventually ended up in the back of the net. It wasn’t his only foray forward either and he won plenty of plaudits for the trouble he caused when he ventured forward.
Taking to social media to react to the game, Robinson featured very highly indeed in some of the words of praise attached to the game from Wigan supporters, and having impressed Bolton Wanderers fans during his spell with them last season, if he can keep this up for the campaign now he’s going to do himself no harm at all when it comes to becoming Lucas Digne’s back up in the seasons to come.
Onwards and upwards for the lad.
To quote Roberto “there were many positives to take today”. Gibson’s distribution, Massey fabulous, Robinson, James & Kipre what debuts. Every @LaticsOfficial player ???????????????????????????????? after last weeks twitter meltdown lets all realise we have an exciting team to support! #wafc

We’re back and we’re going to stick some goals away this season #wafc I’m not having that’s the same Massey as last season, also Robinson looks a player. Jacobs best game in about a year for us too.
