Everton have sealed a MASSIVE VICTORY in their hunt for Champions League football for next season, with Holmgaard, Finnigan and Beever-Jones all bagging in a 3-0 victory over West Ham.
Brian Sorensen’s side have hit a decent run of form of late, winning both of their last two fixtures in the WSL, putting them firmly in the hunt for Champions League qualification.
However, going into their match against West Ham at Walton Park, both sides were level on points. The game was seen as a must-win for the toffees if they were to have any chance of competing with the top teams in the league this season.
Everton couldn’t have started the game any better, with Holmgaard heading home after Jess Park’s cross.
Their lead would be doubled just 10 minutes later. Megan Finnigan scored her first goal since netting at Anfield in the Merseyside derby back in September.
West Ham would push pretty much all game to try and make an impact in the game, but Agnes Beever-Jones would add a 3rd to Everton’s lead with 20 minutes to play, picking out the top corner from 30 yards.

Everton have now leapfrogged Aston Villa into 5th place in the WSL, just two places off Arsenal in the Champions League qualification places.
However, a trip to Leigh Sport’s Village in a season-defining clash with Manchester United is next up for Sorensen’s squad. 3 points on the road could do wonders for the toffees moving forward.
