Everton have confirmed this morning that Shani Tarashaj has made a loan move out to Grasshoppers for the entire 2018/19 campaign.

The 23-year-old winger joined us from Grasshoppers back in the 2016 January transfer window and impressing for them. His two and a half seasons at the club saw him make (on stats I can find) 28 starting appearances with a further 24 showings from the bench. In that time he scored 12 goals.

Having joined us for an undisclosed fee, he immediately went back to his former club on a loan spell for the remainder of the 2015/16 campaign where he made 15 appearances with a return of three goals.

He is yet to make his senior bow and was sent out on loan once again in the 2016/17 season, moving to Eintracht Frankfurt as he looked to grow his experience. It wasn’t a great spell to be fair as he only made two starts, with the bulk of his game time (13 appearances) coming off the bench as a substitute. He did contribute one league goal for them though.

The Switzerland international missed the majority of the 2017/18 campaign having picked up a knee injury which required surgery, so this spell should be a good chance for him to kick on again, get his confidence back and we’ll see where he goes from there.
