Everton turned down Newcastle’s Bruno Guimarães and his compatriots

|

A new day is coming to an end and in typical Everton fashion, it has been one with plenty to talk about.

In the past 72 hours, Everton have sacked Frank Lampard, “signed” Arnaut Danjuma (SkySportsNews) only for him to not show up for training, have had a further TWO players not turn up for training, today Danjuma has signed for Tottenham Hotspur and we have been linked with every manager that is out of work and finally today on TalkSport, super agent Kia Joorabchian has let football fans know what players he has offered to Everton in the past.

AND BREATHE…

Now I doubt we will ever know if these claims are 100% true but let us just think about it for a moment. We had the chance to get Bruno Guimarães but chose Jean-Philippe Gbamin. We were not to know that the Ivorian would have such a bad spell with injuries and when we say bad, his name must be next to unlucky in the dictionary.

The other two players Kia mentions are Real Madrid’s Éder Militão and Aston Villa’s Diego Carlos. Again, we will not know how true these claims are but I hope they are false because if we passed on the chance to get any of those three players then questions need to be asked.

I know Kia’s job is to sell his players to clubs and when you look at Richarlison, Lucas Digne and Bernard as players he has brought to the club then the three Brazilians he talks about, they should have been no-brainers, especially at a time when we could afford to take risks but who is to say that they would be as good as they are now.

In November we looked at Duncan Ferguson’s comments regarding Everton rejecting Erling Haaland, and add these three players to the list. That is some team already.

If only… but in reality, we are stuck in another relegation battle for the second season running.
