Everton have come out to state that young defender Mason Holgate is not for sale – as per the Liverpool Echo.

The report reveals how recent rumours have suggested that West Brom might like to keep the player past this season – particularly if they were to get promoted this campaign back to the Premier League.

However, Everton are not going to entertaining any offer of a permanent exit for the player because it seems as though Marco Silva remains a fan of the player.

He featured fairly regularly at the start of the campaign under the Portuguese but in January moved to West Brom for more guaranteed minutes.

He has excelled there, too, but it seems as though the Toffees would rather keep him and that should be music to our ears.

His form has underlined he is too good for that level and we all know he could be a very good defender for us.

Wanting to keep him, then, is a decision we should be pleased with from the club.
