Everton to Consider Selling on Loan Striker in January

|

Everton are reportedly open to listening to offers for striker Nathan Broadhead in the January transfer window, with the forward attracting interest from numerous Championship clubs.

Broadhead, who is currently on loan at Kolo Toure’s Wigan Athletic, has previously had stints at Burton Albion during the 2019/20 season, and then at Sunderland for the 2021/22 campaign, impressing during his time at the Stadium of Light.

Indeed, despite suffering from injuries during his time on Wearside, the 24-year-old scored 13 goals in his season in the North-East, and almost agreed to a permanent move in the summer, before signing a contract extension at Everton and subsequently joining Wigan on loan.

The Wales U21 international has scored on 4 occasions for the Latics so far this year, and a report claims that Everton may now look to cash in on the forward next month.

Broadhead has been at Everton since the age of 10, making his senior debut in a 2017 Europa League tie away at Cypriot outfit Apollon Limassol, providing an assist for Nikola Vlasic in a 3-0 win for the Blues.

The Everton academy graduate then made his Premier League debut for the club in April 2021, coming off the bench away at Brighton Hove Albion, but has subsequently struggled to establish himself as a first-team player at Goodison Park, and so moving the player on next month may be best for all parties.

Indeed, Broadhead is a promising talent, and will no doubt attract interest from across the Championship, with his current side Wigan Athletic and his former club Sunderland, potentially sizing up a move for the attacker.

Everton meanwhile will be in the market for a forward next month as well, with Frank Lampard’s side linked with moves for Blackburn’s Ben Brereton Diaz and Coventry City’s Viktor Gyokeres.
