Well… It seems like Everton are FINALLY! Getting their man.

In case you have been living under a rock for the last month, Everton and PSG have been in talks over the return of Idrissa Gana Gueye. Talks began at the end of July, with Everton agreeing personal terms early on with Gueye but needed to finalise a fee with PSG. But like everything Everton transfer related, it was not as simple.

After signing Amadou Onana, it was expected Gueye would be joining him only a few days later, but negotiations broke down over how much Everton needed to pay.

However, according to Fabrizio Romano, Everton and PSG have finally reached an agreement and the deal is expected to be completed imminently, with David Ornstein from TheAthletic claiming, the midfielder is due to travel for his medical tonight.

Once the signing is confirmed, it will be Everton’s seventh signing of the summer and a position we have needed since… well, since we sold Gueye to PSG in 2019 for £27M [TransferMarkt] and best of all, it now means that one of my favourite songs can finally do the rounds again at Goodison.

Like most people now, I will only believe it when I see him holding the shirt and hopefully that is before the game against someone on the weekend.

With the transfer window closing in the next few days. Are you happy with Lampard’s signing this summer?
