It’s being reported today that Middlesbrough and Tony Pulis are interested suitors for Ramiro Funes Mori.

Teesside Live report via the Telegraph that the Riverside Stadium outfit have approached Everton with a Β£5million offer for the Argentinian international.

It’s believed the 27-year-old is available for a transfer this summer as new manager Marco Silva looks to reduce our wage bill and our compliment of players as he continues to prepare for the coming 2018/19 Premier League season.

Speculation about players leaving this summer is certainly not new and it’s been dealt with before on Vital Everton in pieces such as Everton Trio Can Depart and Everton Winger Set For Some Turkish Delight and Ashley Williams also features in the most recent speculation alongside Funes Mori.

Even if we are willing to let him go to trim numbers, having paid River Plate a reported Β£9.5million for his services back in the 2015 summer transfer window, even his relative lack of games in the years since (67 appearances) Β£5million definitely on the low side given the financial inflation in football.

That’s the issue for fans who would be happy to see him depart. We have to look towards at least breaking even on the overall deal before the question of whether he’d drop down a level even becomes a topic for debate.

Others held a different view it’s fair to say and thought we could use it towards our advantage.
