Everton are looking at Chicago Fire striker Jhon Duran to sort out their goalscoring issues and could sign him during the January transfer window in their hunt for a striker, according to recent reports.
Prior to the start of the Premier League season, it was widely believed that Dominic Calvert-Lewin would be Everton’s main attacking threat.
However, nearing the halfway point of the season, the Englishman has only managed to make 6 appearances, scoring only 1 goal in that time.
Neal Maupay joined the club during the summer transfer window from Brighton and Hove Albion for around £15 million but he has, so far, failed to kickstart his career on Merseyside, scoring just once in 11 appearances.
According to Simon Phillips, Everton are ‘pushing hard’ to sign a striker in January and are also one of the clubs interested in Chicago Fire striker Jhon Duran [via Transfer Tavern].
They would also have to battle off interest from West Ham if they were to acquire the 19-year-old’s signature [via Ekrem Nokur].

Duran has 11 goal contributions in 27 MLS appearances in 2022, decent stats for a teenager.
He has also made his debut for the Colombian national team, coming off the bench in a friendly victory against Paraguay last month.
Although Duran would be a good move for the future, Everton are in desperate need of immediate goals, meaning a move for a teenager playing in the MLS would be a big risk if they weren’t going to sign another attacker alongside him.
