According to the Times, Everton will offer Jordan Pickford a new deal this summer in order to beat off the likes of Chelsea who are interested.
The goalkeeper was arguably England’s best player at the World Cup as he made a string of fine saves and was, of course, the hero in the penalty shootout with Colombia.
His stock has certainly risen considerably since, then, and Chelsea are monitoring him with Thibaut Courtois potentially off.
With that said, then, the Blues are looking at offering him an improved deal and, to be honest, if that happens I am confident he will sign.
This would make perfect sense.
He’s a player we all want to see stay put for a long time to come and in the coming years he should become one of the best in Europe – let alone the league.
If we’re to get where we want we need to keep these players so let’s make him a good offer.
