Everton preparing move for ‘Monster’ Serie A striker

|

Everton are interested in signing ‘massive’ Serie A striker, Beto during the January transfer window according to reports in Italy.

Beto started his career in his native Portugal with Clube Olímpico do Montijo before moving to Portimonense.

After 2 seasons with the club, he joined Italian side, Udinese on loan. After scoring an impressive 11 goals in his first season, he completed a permanent move.

He was also named in Portugal’s provisional 55-man squad to go to the Qatar World Cup, but was eventually not selected.

So far this season, he has scored 6 goals in 15 Serie A games, looking set to beat his tally from last season.

However, according to CalcioMercato, Everton are interested in signing the 24-year-old during the January transfer window but may face competition from the likes of Borussia Dortmund and Napoli [YahooNews].

Beto could be seen as the perfect replacement for the injury-stricken Dominic Calvert-Lewin, sitting at 6’3″, a towering figure in the air.

Everton do still have the likes of Neal Maupay, Salomon Rondon and on-loan, Ellis Simms to play back-up to Dominic Calvert-Lewin, but with the club’s chronic lack of goals lately, an extra quality striker on their books might not do much damage.

Beto signed for Udinese for a reported fee of £7 million last season but could cost the toffees double that fee if they were to ask for his signature.
