Everton prepare mega money Deadline Day approach for one-time Premier League winner – report

Everton are hopeful of completing a mega money, Deadline Day move for Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi, according to The Guardian.

The Toffees are expected to make a last ditch effort to sign the Belgian for £35million, as the one-time Premier League winner continues to be out-of-favour at Valencia.

Any move for the striker would have to be on a permanent basis due to Kurt Zouma’s current loan from the Blues, though, and the offer must exceed the £33million the London side paid Marseille for his signature in 2016.

Batshuayi has not featured at the Mestalla Stadium since Los Che’s Copa del Ray defeat to Sporting Gijon on January 8, when the 23-cap international played 46 minutes without scoring.

Altogether, in his half-season in Spain, the 25-year-old has featured in 21 games, scoring twice, but 12 of his appearances have come from the bench.

Marco Silva would be adding a top-draw talent to his roster despite the striker’s current poor vein of form, which could, in turn, change the balance at Goodison Park that has led to rising doubt over his future.

Unfortunately, despite the expectation that a deal for Batshuayi can be reached with Chelsea, there is still a strong belief that the move relies on Idrissa Gana Gueye heading to Paris Saint-Germain.
