According to AfricaTopSports, Everton are ‘on the offensive’ for Christian Luyindama. The Toffees may offer €15m as the 26-year-old has ‘seduced’ Carlo Ancelotti.

AfricaTopSports say Everton may have to battle Aston Villa and West Ham United for Luyindama’s signature, so they have stiff competition to bring him to Goodison Park.

Which club did Everton loan Cenk Tosun out to in January?

The DR Congo international has made 32 appearances in all competitions for Galatasaray, scoring two goals and making one assist. He joined the Turkish outfit from Standard Liege in 2019.

Luyindama has been recovering from a serious knee injury, so he may need time to improve his conditioning. The 2020/21 campaign will start late, however, so time is on his side.

Everton loaned out Matthew Pennington to Hull City last summer and are expected to sell him this summer. The Blues released Phil Jagielka and Ashley Williams when their contracts expired at the end of last season too.

No replacements were brought in, however, so Everton need a centre-back to accompany Yerry Mina, Michael Keane and Mason Holgate in 2020/21.

Lewis Gibson has broken into the first-team, but he’s likely to be loaned out next season to continue his development, forcing Everton to scour the transfer market for a new addition to their backline.

Everton have been linked with Diego Godin, John Stones, Gian Marco Ferrari, Jean-Clair Todibo, Gabriel Magalhaes, Marash Kumbulla and Kristoffer Ajer, but it remains to be seen who they’ll bring in.

Luyindama has been on their radar for some time and wouldn’t break the bank, so he could be a shrewd acquisition.
