According to goal.com, Everton are on the verge of signing Yerry Mina with a fee at last being agreed with Barcelona for the World Cup star.

The Blues have been linked with the powerful Colombian for much of this window with it evident that Marco Silva wants to sign at least one new centre-half.

Mina seems to be the one, too, with a fee of £27m apparently being agreed on after former bids of £15m and £21m earlier this summer were deemed not good enough.

A breakthrough has happened, then, and now it remains to be seen whether we can tie this one up.

The Verdict

This would be a more than welcome signing.

I had doubts that we’d be able to pull this off at times given how long it was taking but it looks as though we’re close to getting it over the line.

Nothing is concrete, of course, but this report is certainly a step in the right direction.

Thoughts, Blues fans? Let me know!
