Plenty of Everton fans have flocked to Twitter to discuss a reported transfer target this week.

According to Nicolo Schira, the Toffees have held talks with Napoli midfielder Allan over a potential reunion with Carlo Ancelotti in Merseyside, although they face competition from Atletico Madrid, too.

Last month, similar reports broke claiming the Serie A club were looking for €50m (£45m) but could accept a lower €40m (£36m) offer given the financial situation across football post-pandemic.

Allan could well be the defensive midfielder that the Merseysiders are crying out for and Ancelotti, of course, knows him well.

Should Everton sign Allan this summer?

No thanks!

No thanks!

Yes please!

Yes please!

Per WhoScored, the 29-year-old has averaged 2.9 tackles, 1 dribble and 0.6 key passes per game this campaign, which includes appearances in the Champions League.

And many at Goodison Park are drooling over the prospect of signing him claiming it would be “massive” and “boss” if they were able to clinch him whilst one supporter believes he would be better than all the other options in midfield.

Here’s how the rest of the Everton faithful reacted…
