Everton’s hopes of qualifying for Europe are all but dead in the water after a disappointing defeat on Sunday afternoon.

The Toffees were stung 3-0 by Wolves, meaning they are some ten points from the top seven with just three games left to play.

So surely Carlo Ancelotti will be looking for a reaction going into a summer where he’ll be no doubt looking to bolster his squad with some new additions.

We’re predicting him to ring the changes at Goodison Park this evening, here’s what we think…

Predicted Everton XI vs Aston Villa

The Italian strangely tinkered his formation at Wolves and it simply didn’t pay off as he went with a back three which saw Lucas Digne lineup at centre-back.

He’s likely to remain in the lineup but instead, the 26-year-old will revert to left-back once more, meaning Leighton Baines drops to the bench in one of six widespread changes.

Mason Holgate is fit to feature and he’ll surely come straight back in as the Toffees have rued his absence. He could partner Michael Keane whilst skipper Seamus Coleman also returns to the starting XI.

In midfield, only young winger Anthony Gordon keeps his place.

Andre Gomes has also been declared available and he could be handed a surprise partner in Beni Baningime – the 21-year-old hasn’t made a single appearance for the senior side this campaign but he’s well worth a look at before next year, particularly given Everton’s woes in the middle of the pitch.

On the other wing, Alex Iwobi replaces Theo Walcott.

Moise Kean may even be handed a rare start as Richarlison is given a rest, meaning we could see the Italian lineup alongside Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

It means there is no place for Gylfi Sigurdsson whilst Fabian Delph and Yerry Mina will miss this one through injury.
