Everton could be in the market for attacking additions this summer and one name emerged from reports earlier in the week.

According to Arena Napoli, Toffees boss Carlo Ancelotti is prioritising the signing of Rangers forward Alfredo Morelos as he looks to bolster his frontline.

It’s claimed that funds are likely to be tight at Goodison Park during the transfer window, but 24-year-old is unlikely to have a huge asking price, which could open to the door for the Merseysiders.

They’ll have to beat off competition from Napoli for the talisman, though.

This would be a strange move to make considering the Italian chief has Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Moise Kean and Richarlison in the striker’s role, and that’s excluding the baggage the Colombian could come with.

Would you like to see Morelos at Everton?

Yes!

No!

talkSPORT’s Alan Brazil has previously blasted him for being a “liability” and a “serious problem” over his disciplinary problems, which often seem to come on the big stage, according to the former Scottish striker at least.

But his boss, ex-Red Steven Gerrard, has regularly waxed lyrical about him. In November, after Rangers’ memorable win over Porto, he said: “I will never run out of things to say about Alfredo because he keeps providing game-changing moments. He deserves to be praised. I’ll never get bored of talking about him. He’s a fantastic player.”

Morelos enjoyed a very productive season at Ibrox, providing a whopping 29 goals and ten assists from 46 appearances in all competitions, via Transfermarkt.

It remains to be seen how much the goal-laden forward would cost a team like Everton this summer. Transfermarkt value him at £10.8m whilst the Daily Mail claim the SPFL giants would want at least £15m for his services.

Now, it’s on Marcel Brands.
