A fresh transfer update on one of Everton’s reported targets has divided supporters this week.
According to Sport.es, Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot has made it clear that he wants to leave the Serie A outfit at the end of the current campaign and prefers a move to Goodison Park over league rivals Arsenal.
The report cites a claim from Italian outlet Tuttosport regarding the move being a ‘work in progress’ with Carlo Ancelotti eyeing a reunion with the former PSG ace.
And many of us in Merseyside appear torn by the report.
Would Rabiot be a perfect partner for Gomes at Everton?
Absolutely!
No way, next!
One the one hand, many see this move as positive as it’ll fill a glaring need in the Toffees’ engine room whilst some supporters have pointed out the 25-year-old’s attitude as a huge negative.
The defensive lynchpin has featured 24 times in all competitions for Juventus this term, via WhoScored, where he has averaged 1.7 tackles, 1.3 dribbles and one interception per match.
Given the reliance on Andre Gomes, who was absent for the majority of the campaign with a serious ankle injury, Rabiot may well be a much-needed midfield addition.
Here’s the word from the Everton faithful…

Interesting from sport. An interest in a stroppy Frenchman playing in Italy wanting to play for a unfavourable English side. Usually ‘okay’ when not used as a Barca mouthpiece https://t.co/wa8bV9oaGp

Hes a class player but does carry attitude problems if we can sort that, trust Ancelotti on it cos he is a top player, him and Gomez is a dream

Pros – has a good relationship with Carlo (I’d imagine).
Technically very good player at good age.
Could relish the chance to be a main player in a team. A star rather than a number. Polish his ego. Has a point to prove.Cons – has fallen out with 2 clubs and national team.

If true, hope he behaves himself, at least he got on with Carlo! Still think he’s trouble & on massive wages!
