According to the Daily Mail, Everton were among the sides to miss out on Issa Diop in the summer with him signing for West Ham in the end.
The Blues were certainly looking for new centre-halves in the summer and duly went for Yerry Mina and Kurt Zouma to boost the options in that area.
Diop was apparently also among the players we were looking at, though, and so it seemed were other clubs as well as his eventual destination.
The Hammers look to have got a gem, too, with him dominant at the weekend against Manchester United despite his tender age.
He’s potentially a good player, then, but I am happy with what we have got this season and I don’t think Diop will prove that big a miss in the long run despite looking a decent player.
