Everton may have to pay €25m and €0.57m-a-year wages for 27 y/o, left-back ‘certain to leave’

According to Le10 Sport, Everton are interested in Nicolás Tagliafico and may have to battle Leicester City, Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain to procure his signature.

The 27-year-old is ‘certain to leave’ Ajax this summer, but it’s unknown why Everton need the coveted left-back with Lucas Digne and Leighton Baines already on the books.

Which club did Everton loan Cenk Tosun out to in January?

Tagliafico joined Ajax from Independiente in January 2018 and has gone on to make 99 appearances in all competitions, scoring 12 goals and making 15 assists.

The Argentine international has been a regular under Erik ten Hag, making 38 appearances across the board this season while scoring five goals and making seven assists.

If Everton want to sign Tagliafico, Le10 Sport say they’ll have to pay €25m. And according to Silly Seasons, the left-back earns €0.57m-a-year/€11k-per-week. Unless Digne is leaving, why would the Toffees make a move?

Baines has an uncertain future at Goodison Park as he’s out of contract this summer, but Everton wouldn’t be paying €25m for his replacement while Digne remains first-choice.

Tagliafico can operate as a makeshift centre-back, but he’s only featured once in the role since his move to Ajax.
