According to Sky Sports News, Lucas Digne has picked up a thigh injury ahead of Everton’s meeting with West Ham United on Saturday, forcing him to pull out of the France squad. The 25-year-old picked up the injury in training last week and could be a doubt against the Hammers which is bad news for Marco Silva.

He wasn’t names in the France squad that beat Moldova in Friday’s Euro 2020 qualifier. Digne was ruled out against Iceland on Monday and returned to England to complete his recovery at the Finch Farm. The Toffees could call upon Leighton Baines to replace Digne if he’s not passed fit in time for Saturday.

Digne has made 30 appearances in all competitions for Everton, scoring and creating eight goals. The left-back has averaged a tackle (53) or interception (47) every 23 minutes, in addition to creating 55 chances and making 11 successful dribbles (48%).

His Everton side are currently 11th in the Premier League with 40 points from 31 games this season, coming off the back of two wins and a draw from their last four. Silva’s men could leapfrog West Ham in the table if they pick up all three points at the London Stadium.
