Everton man out for 4 months due to ‘influenza’ & ‘private circumstances’ after 90-day injury

Shani Tarashaj couldn’t be having a worse season after leaving Everton. The 25-year-old joined FC Emmen on a two-year loan spell last summer and has spent his first year at the De Oude Meerdijk sidelined with various injuries. Tarashaj has yet to make his first-team debut for Emmen and it remains to be seen when he’ll be fit and available for Dick Lukkien.

The Swiss international joined Emmen in July and was an unused substitute in their 5-0 defeat to Ajax and 2-0 win over Heerenveen while representing the U21s in August before picking up an injury that kept him out of action until mid-November. Tarashaj spent approximately 90 days out and missed 10 games in all competitions before making his return.

Unfortunately, the striker’s comeback was short-lived. After being an unused substitute in Emmen’s 3-0 defeat to AZ Alkmaar and 1-1 draw with RKC Waalwijk while playing for the u21s in November, Tarashaj was then ruled out due to ‘influenza’ and ‘private circumstances’ and hasn’t featured since. He’s spent another four months on the sidelines and doesn’t appear close to returning.

Tarashaj still has another year on his deal in the Netherlands, but his loan may be cut short as Emmen are paying £500k-a-year for his services and aren’t getting their money’s worth.

if he’s signed a 2 year loan deal then i can’t ever see him coming back to Everton, just forget about him, not good enough for Emmen then he’s definitely not good enough for Everton.
