Everton winger Nikola Vlasic has slammed former manager Sam Allardyce for the ‘awful’ football the club played during his time in charge and claimed that the players were absolutely ‘terrified’ of the fans as well.

It was quite a hard-hitting interview with Croatian outlet Sportske Novosti (via Sky Sports) and the 21-year-old didn’t really hold back and in many ways, plenty of fans will think if he hasn’t burnt his bridges already, he may have done so now.

Having been sent out to CSKA Moscow back in August on a loan spell, Soccerbase credit him with 20 starts and a return of seven goals, so he’s found himself some confidence.

“Everything changed after Koeman left. The football played by Big Sam was awful, if it could even be called football. In such football I do not have a place. The football team was terrified by everything, the fans mostly. This season, Marco Silva plays different, much nicer football, but has not got results. It is true that Everton did not make an expected breakthrough but at least fans now look at the normal football in which the guys, through their actions, are trying to score and win.”

Talking about his own future at Goodison Park, he didn’t feel he had one and he pointed to our spending over the summer and the players we brought in, and he believed his opportunity had passed.

“So I expect them to sell me as soon as they get their first bid.”

Quite an amazing set of quotes really with little lost in translation and I’d love to know what others made of it.
