Over the last week, we have been linked with, Billy Gilmour and Leander Dendoncker. However, late on Monday evening, it was reported by Argentinian journalist César Luis Merlo that Everton and Betis had been in talks over the transfer of Guido Rodriguez.

The Argentinian defensive midfielder signed for Real Betis in January 2020, representing Betis over 100 times and with Betis trying to improve their squad, they need outgoing to meet registration rules with Sporting director Antonio Cordón and president Ángel Haro emphasizing, those who have already arrived must be registered, and for that to happen, that requires outgoings which is where Everton come in. Rodriguez is currently valued at €40m by Betis, a fee that Everton most definitely cannot afford, however with Betis needing to sell some players in order to register new ones, Everton will try and take advantage of this and will look at paying instalments which would work for both parties.

With no bid officially made SportWitness reported that Betis are “waiting for Everton” to put in a formal bid, which could be done at any time in the next 24 hours. Capped 24 times by Argentina, Rodriguez could be the perfect number 6 that we have been searching for.
Do you think Everton should make a move for the Argentinian? Or would you rather someone else?
