With Everton already confirming friendly ties this summer against Bury, Lille, FC Porto, Blackburn Rovers and Valencia ahead of the coming 2018/19 Premier League campaign, our pre-season training camp out in Austria will also see us take on a new face – ATV Irdning.

We will face them at their ATV Riesneralm Arena on Saturday, July 14 and the game carries a 4pm UK kick-off time (5pm local time).

Having returned to Finch Farm on Monday to begin preparations for life under new manager Marco Silva, the game will be his first proper opportunity to cast his eye over the players against unknown opposition – as opposed to just training based matches. A limited number of tickets will be on sale for the game and they will be confirmed in due course, but Official Members and Season Ticket Holders can stream the game (individual match passes available for others) and details about that will be confirmed Monday (today) on the Official Site.

Not an earth-shattering announcement from the club and reactions from some fans on social media has been predictable – they want to see outgoings with speed and incomings even quicker as the campaign kick-off nears. With the World Cup edging to a close at least transfer market dealings should hot up over the next few weeks and I’d say it’s safe to guarantee that Silva will want a speedy outcome on his targets so they can have longer to adjust to life at the club, their new colleagues and get on board with what the gaffer wants for next season.
