Everton keen on loan move for Manchester United winger

|

Everton are keen on signing 20-year-old Manchester United winger, Anthony Elanga on loan during the January transfer window in order to bolster their attack, according to recent reports.

The blues are in need of some serious attacking reinforcements during the January window after struggling to put the ball in the back of the net during the first half of the Premier League season.

So far, Frank Lampard’s side have found the net just 11 times in their opening 15 games, the second lowest of any team in the league this season.

The likes of Brereton-Diaz and Mohammed Kudus have already been linked with a move to Goodison Park ahead of the opening of the transfer window, but reports suggest Everton are targeting someone closer to home.

According to The Athletic, Everton are keen on bringing Manchester United winger Anthony Elanga to the club on loan in January to add a fresh face to their attacking ranks.

Elanga had a breakthrough season with the Red Devils last season, making 22 appearances in the Premier League as well scoring two goals and grabbing himself two assists.

He also scored the winning goal in United’s win over Atletico Madrid in the Champions League.

Despite only being 20, he is already capped 9 times for the Swedish National Team. He scored his first senior goal for Sweden in their 2-1 loss to Norway in the  UEFA Nations League during the summer.

Although Everton signing Elanga on loan would be the perfect deal financially as it would cost the club next to nothing, the Swede has never been an out-and-out goal scorer. Frank Lampard’s side is crying out for a winger who is a proven goal scorer and it seems unlikely that they will get that with Elanga.

Should Everton sign Elanga?
