Whilst 18-year-old David Henen is reportedly already training with Everton ahead of his proposed transfer from Anderlecht a deal is not yet completed.

It’s believed a deal has been done for a fee in the region of £1.5million, but it is yet to be finalised.

As we have mentioned before he’s not a signing to start competing straight away for a first team place and will join the Everton Under-21 squad, but anyone who has the ability and courage to not only attract Manchester United but also turn them down at just 16 has to be an exciting prospect.

‘They offered me nice financial conditions but my manager advised me to break through first in Belgium. I have therefore refused their offer, like the invitation to visit their training centre. the then 16-year-old midfielder told La Derniere Heure.

Two years later and not only has Henen broken through in Belgium he has also impressed in France playing for Monaco B.

Last month he reportedly completed a medical at Finch Farm and the permanent transfer is in the process of being completed and made official.

“David is only a young man and I we believe this is the perfect environment for him to develop and fulfil his potential and we would love to find a way to sign him. But that doesn’t mean he’s going to go into the first-team at all. Martinez told the Everton TV.

He continued: “He’s a young promising footballer and we think he would be perfect for the group of Under-21s that we have created.”
