According to recent reports, Everton are interested in Aberdeen youngster, Lewis Pirie.

In a recent game, Aberdeen under-16 battered Dundee FC 5-2, with Lewis Pirie netting 4 times in the match.

The Daily Record recently reported that Everton scouts were in attendance for the game and were ‘impressed’ by the teenager.

The report goes on to state that Everton are set to follow up on their interest in the Scottsman with a bid, however, Aberdeen are very keen on keeping the teenager as they see him as an important first-team player in the future.

The Merseysiders aren’t the only club interested in the attacker’s signature, however, with Brighton and Sheffield United also holding an interest.

Everton have a range of quality attackers in their youth academy at current, with the likes of Stanley Mills and Tom Cannon scoring on a regular basis for the under-23s side and the likes of Francis Okoronkwo and Martin Sherif performing well on multiple occasions for Leighton Baines’ under-18s.

However, a move for a player like Lewis Pirie is exactly the sort of move Kevin Thelwell and his staff should be striving to make. A young profile player with potential going through the roof. It wouldn’t be any surprise if we saw EFC moving for more players with the same profile in the near future.
