Everton in the market for a new striker after Rondon exit

|

Everton are exploring the market for a new striker after Salomon Rondon terminated his contract yesterday and they are set to hold talks in the coming days according to transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano.

The toffees have been struggling with a chronic lack of goals so far this season, managing to score just 11 times in their opening 15 Premier League games.

After a season plagued with injuries in 2020/21, Dominic Calvert-Lewin was expected to make a comeback to the first team and be the blue’s target man.

However, he has only managed to play 6 games this season because of injury and has only scored once, in a 3-0 win over Crystal Palace at Goodison Park.

Neal Maupay was signed in the summer window from Brighton and Hove Albion but has so far failed to make an impact.

With Salomon Rondon recently also terminating his contract on Merseyside, the toffees are now reportedly looking for more striking reinforcements.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Everton are now exploring the striker market after Rondon’s exit from the club yesterday and are set to hold talks in the coming days. They are also reportedly one of 4 clubs interested in Athletico Madrid’s Matheus Cunha.

Attacking reinforcements are essential for Everton in the upcoming January transfer window. In order to retain their Premier League status, they must get any moves that they do make right.
