Everton hold advanced talks for coveted €50m star, loads of fans react: ‘God I hope he joins’

Everton have seized on Juventus Sporting Director Fabio Paratici’s travels to England to hold advanced negotiations for the transfer of Moise Kean, according to Gianluca di Marzio.

The Juve chief had travelled to England to hold negotiations with Aston Villa regarding a potential deal for the Azzurri’s fringe goalkeeper Mattia Perin, but is understood to have stopped off on Merseyside to meet with Marcel Brands and Marco Silva.

Everton are also understood to have met with Kean’s agent Mino Raiola, which led to decisive steps being taken and the young striker is now thought to be open to a move to Goodison Park if his time in Turin is over.

The Blues still face severe competition for the coveted rising star of the Italian game, with Arsenal a potential rival after Tuttosport named the Gunners as an outfit ‘doing their best’ to make a deal happen.

Tuttosport, via Sport Witness, also reported that Juventus are now expected to demand as much as €45m (£40.1m) to €50million (£44.6m) for the 2020-free agent, which could be seen as a ploy to insist on a buy-back clause that better suits the Serie A side than whoever wins the race for Kean’s signature.

Previous speculation on the 19-year-old’s future has suggested Juve would push for a £40.5million buyback clause in any transfer that sees Kean leave the Allianz Stadium this summer, which would be just £9.5million more than the Azzurri were thought to be holding out for.

Toffees supporters reacting to di Marzio’s suggestion that Everton have held advanced negotiations with Paratici have mostly been positive, with fans keen to see Brands seal the deal. But there are a few among the Goodison Park faithful who still question the buyback clause Juventus are expected to demand.

Here’s how these fans reacted…
