Some Evertonians believe that the FA is against their club and other football fans that hear this will laugh at them and say, it happens to everyone.

This might be the case, but someone please explain how one club (Everton) is fined one sum of money, and another club (Manchester City) is fined a smaller sum of money for the same, if not a worse action.

On the 30th of September, the FA fined Everton Football Club, £300,000 for two breaches of FA Rule E20 when Everton fans ran onto the pitch in the 84th minute when Dominic Calvert-Lewin scored the third in a 3-2 win against Crystal Palace on Thursday 19th May, a game that ensured Everton’s safety in the Premier League.

At the full-time whistle, Everton fans stormed the pitch to celebrate and during those celebrations, Crystal Palace manager Patrick Viera assaulted an Everton fan who was celebrating in his face. Viera received NO punishment from the FA.

This afternoon, Manchester City, who broke the same FA rule, E20. Received a fine of, £260,000. Not only did they break the same rule that Everton did, but during the Manchester City pitch invasion, a Man City fan assaulted Aston Villa goalkeeper Robin Olsen.

As football fans, we all ask for fair punishments and that each team is treated the same, but why is it that Everton received a fine £40,000 more than Manchester City and one of their fans assaulted a player on the pitch?

I could understand if it was an Everton fan that had assaulted Patrick Viera. If that were the case then yes, Everton deserves the bigger fine and the person that did the assault deserves his punishment, but to punish Everton more for less than what Manchester City did, just proves to many that the FA only cares about the “big teams”.

This is the same FA that fined Everton manager Frank Lampard, £30,000 for his comments made about the referee after the Merseyside Derby when Everton were not awarded a penalty when Anthony Gordon was brought down in the area, yet other Premier League managers can criticise the referee’s weekly and go unpunished.

I cannot understand how the FA have concluded that Everton deserved a bigger fine than Manchester City, but like everything else, we will take whatever the FA throw at us. They tried their best last season to see us relegated with ridiculous VAR decisions and officiating, and that didn’t happen.

So, better luck next time.
