Everton fight Premier League rivals for highly-rated defender

|

Everton have bolstered their defensive ranks under the guidance of Marco Silva and it seems they believe there is still work to be done in this aspect.

Brazilian outlet UOL state that Porto centre-back Eder Militao is keen on moving to the Premier League, where Everton are fighting the likes of Manchester United and Liverpool for the 20-year-old’s signature.

Militao, who only moved to Europe in the summer from Sao Paulo, has quickly settled on the continent and was rewarded with a senior international debut with Brazil last year.

While the Toffees’ are currently well stocked in the middle of defence with Yerry Mina, Kurt Zouma, Michael Keane and Phil Jagielka, Chelsea loanee Zouma is only at the club permanently and Jagielka is approaching the end of his career.

Militao, therefore, could be a valuable addition to Silva’s squad, while the likes of Richarlison and Bernard will help the youngster settle.
