Former fullback and now pundit Danny Mills has inadvertently started a new round of Lucas Digne speculation given the worrying reports Everton fans would’ve seen earlier in the transfer window about Tottenham Hotspur apparently tracking the player.
It’s not the first time Mills has spoken about his talent and how quickly he adjusted to the Premier League level following his arrival from Barcelona and few would disagree that the 25-year-old has a major impact for manager Marco Silva and it’s looking like £18million could well be a bargain for him as he’ll only improve further.
With Spurs heavily linked with an interest in the left back earlier in the season and claims of potential cash + swap deals involving Danny Rose, the Goodison Park faithful would’ve been pleased to see those reports disappear almost as quickly as they surfaced in more recent times, but thanks to Mills’ wibblings I guess we can expect a new round of claims next week.
“The merry-go-round has been given a big push by the Ndombele and Clarke deals, and I’m expecting Tottenham to be busy for the rest of the window. There is talk of Lucas Digne going to Tottenham to replace Danny Rose if he leaves. There could be something in that, and it’s one to keep an eye on as a late window deal.”
I won’t even suggest where Spurs should stick their interest.
