With only a few weeks remaining in the transfer window, it seems that we’ve started to play an active role in the market. The speculation has intensified over recent days, and one player that could be on his way to Goodison Park is Augsburg’s Martin Hinteregger.

According to the Sun, we’re interested in signing the Augsburg defender, Martin Hinteregger, and the 25-year-old is valued at £13M. The defender has been the subject of interest from some clubs including Inter Milan; however, it’s believed that the 25-year-old is keen on playing in the Premier League.

Also, it’s reported that we’ll have to fight West Ham United to secure the Austrian’s signature.

Verdict:

Our need for defensive reinforcement has been apparent for a while, and the potential arrival of Hintergger would provide us with greater depth and adaptability. The Austrian primarily plays as a centre-back, but he can operate in midfield if required.
