The weekend’s trip to Dean Court to face Bournemouth certainly carried a number of headlines following the 2-2 draw for Everton. The hosts eventually fought back to secure a share of the spoils, despite us being two goals clear and down to ten men.

A major concern for fans was the collision for Michael Keane who had to be carried off on a stretcher after scoring our second in the game and on Sunday, Everton confirmed that he had suffered a hairline fracture of the skull, but the news was good, as it would fully heal without further issue and he has no additional complications.

It just means the 25-year-old will be unable to engage in any kind of head contact for the next three to four weeks, and then he can naturally rejoin full training when he gets the all clear.

The news was obviously warmly greeted by fans and a number of non-Evertonians also showed their class in passing on their own well wishes when the clubs’ social media team made the announcement.

Even if a month lay-off is a blow it could’ve been a lot worse so we have to be thankful for that, and being able to otherwise train should mean it won’t have been too big a disappointment for him after the showing he put in on the day as he’d have been relishing the next game coming as his efforts impressed many.
