Japanese midfielder, Daichi Kamada is currently in the best form of his career and with his current contract at Eintracht Frankfurt coming to an end at the end of the season, a move to Everton could be on the cards.

Kamada joined Eintracht Frankfurt from Japanese J-league side, Sagan Tosu in 2017 for a reported fee of £1.7 million at the age of just 21, a substantial fee for a player of that age from the J-league [via transfermarkt]

The midfielder would turn out to be a catalyst of sorts for Japanese youngsters moving to Europe, with Takefusa Kubo moving the Real Madrid from FC Tokyo 2 years after. However, Kubo was slightly more well-known in European football after spending 4 of his early years in the Barcelona youth academy.

Kamada would struggle to break into the first team during his first season in Germany, prompting a loan move to St.Truiden in the Belgian A-league.

This move would well and truly kick-start his career in Europe. He would score a career-high 15 goals and add a further 5 assists in his 36 games in Belgium, pathing a way for him into the first team at parent club, Frankfurt.

Since then, the 26-year-old has been a mainstay in the lineup for Frankfurt, netting 35 times and providing 21 assists in just over 100 Bundesliga games.

However, it is looking likely that this season will be his most productive by far since joining the club in 2017. In 11 league games this season, he has 7 goals and 2 assists to his name, putting him joint 3rd for goals this season in Germany, level with former Chelsea academy graduate Jamal Musiala.

Everton were interested in Kamada during the summer transfer window but were unable to acquire his signature. However, recent reports have suggested that the toffees are still interested in signing Kamada and could even attempt to sign him in January before his contract expires next summer [via HITC Sport].
