According to the Mirror, Alisher Usmanov is considering investing in Charlton now instead of Everton.

The Russian billionaire was at Arsenal until being bought out in the summer by Stan Kroenke and many of us thought that he might well get more involved with us.

Certainly, we’ve seen his name around the club already but this report is now suggesting that he could decide to help Charlton out instead.

The Addicks have had a long struggle with their current owners with staff struggling to get money out of him and the squad very rarely seeing investment.

With that in mind, then, Usmanov would be welcome there but, at the same time, we want to see him give his financial backing to us.

We’ll just have to see what happens in the coming weeks, then, because it remains to be seen what Usmanov is going to do with his money in the future.
