Back in the January transfer window, Everton were linked with a mountain of footballers and it seems as though that will be the case in the summer window, too.

Indeed, with the game on a pause at the moment, there’s also a good chance that transfers are going to be spoken about a lot in the coming weeks and one rumour involving Matias Vecino is currently doing the rounds.

Good signing?

To set the scene, earlier on this year, Calciomercato claimed that the likes of Chelsea and the Blues were looking at the Inter Milan midfielder.

He stayed put in the end, but there is cause to suggest that, if the Toffees still want him, they can make a move in the summer window and Inter might well be willing to let him move.

According to Tuttosport – via Sport Witness – the Nerazzuri are looking at trying to add a new midfielder in the summer window and that could leave Vecino further down the pecking order.

Tuttsport also refers to Everton’s interest in the £20.7m-valued midfielder and so it is easy to put the two factors together and get the suggestion that the Blues could get such a deal done.

Obviously, it remains to be seen if the Toffees still have an interest in the player but with Carlo Ancelotti boasting plenty of knowledge of the game in Italy, it doubtless won’t be the last time we see a player from the country getting linked to the club.
