Everton considering move for World Cup ‘star’ winger

|

Everton are considering a move for Watford winger Ismaila Sarr during the January transfer window according to transfer specialist Ignazio Genuardi.

Sarr is having a decent season in the Championship, scoring 6 and assisting 4 in 16 starts so far.

His decent club form earned him a place in the Senegalese squad for the Qatar World Cup, having already made nearly 40 appearances for his nation.

He performed well in Senegal’s first two fixtures without much to show for it, losing 2-0 to the Netherlands in their opening game and beating hosts Qatar 3-1 a few days later.

In their third match, Sarr finally got his goal, scoring a first-half penalty for his side in a 2-1 win over Ecuador, helping them escape from the group in second position.

They would get knocked out after a 3-0 loss to England in the round of 16, but Sarr has not done himself any damage to his reputation with his performances at the World Cup.

With the January transfer window only a few weeks away, clubs would obviously be sniffing around the 24-year-old.

According to Ignazio Genuardi, Everton are considering making a move for the Championship winger and that a move could potentially happen in January.

Everton are, quite clearly, in desperate need of attacking reinforcement. With the likes of Crystal Palace and Aston Villa also interested in acquiring the winger’s services, the toffees will have to move fast.

Although considering the price the Hornets paid for Sarr back in 2019, Everton may be better looking elsewhere at some slightly more affordable options.
