Everton are close to agreeing on two new long-term deals with Alex Iwobi and Anthony Gordon with both being linked with moves away recently, according to recent reports.
Despite Everton having struggled so far this season, sitting in 17th position 15 games into the season, Anthony Gordon and Alex Iwobi have been some of the toffees’ standout performances.
Gordon is currently Everton’s top scorer in the Premier League this season with 3 goals but was heavily linked with a move away from the club in the summer with Chelsea reportedly holding the most interest.
However, Lampard managed to keep his man and now he looks set to be signing a new long-term deal at Everton.
Unlike most at the club, Alex Iwobi is having his best season in an Everton shirt, already providing 5 assists and scoring a goal having started all 15 games this season.
He was linked with a move to Italian giants Roma but the deal was never close to completion, but now he seems set to sign a new deal at Everton.
According to The Times, both Alex Iwobi and Anthony Gordon are close to signing new deals with the club that would keep them on Merseyside on a long-term basis.
Although Everton have underperformed this season, sealing new deals for their most important players has to be one of their main priorities going into the January transfer window.
