The EFL trophy is not exactly the greatest tournament in the world but it did grab the headlines earlier this week.
Indeed, Rochdale were the side to benefit from it as they saw their young player Luke Matheson come on at the age of 15 to be their youngest ever senior player.
He did well, too, after a 13th minute introduction with him winning the man of the match award and getting plenty of acclaim since.
Naturally, then, when this sort of thing happens we soon see the transfer rumour mill spark into life and, according to the Daily Mail, we are tracking the player.
The likes of Liverpool and Chelsea are also apparently keen on the youngster but if he wants a clear progression through the ranks he’d do well to find a better option than us.
He’s still very, very young, though, so it might make sense to not go for him just yet.
