Everton charged by the FA… AGAIN

Some Evertonians believe that the FA have it out for Everton, whether that be referees that are set to officiate our games, terrible refereeing decisions, VAR decisions or the amount of time we seem to get charged by the FA for any reason they seem fit.

This afternoon, Everton along with Crystal Palace have been charged by the FA as both clubs ‘failed to ensure their players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion”.

The incident during Everton’s 3-0 win over Palace was when Wilfried Zaha for no reason whatsoever other than the fact he was in Coleman’s pocket all game, jumped into the back of Anthony Gordon leading with an elbow which looked to have caught Gordon in the back of the head.

The usual handbags and pushing ensued resulting in three Crystal Palace players receiving yellow cards, and one to Everton’s James Tarkowski. What I don’t understand is what does the FA expect to happen when a player is fouled so blatantly?

The referee on the day Simon Hooper had only himself to blame along with his incompetent officials as they allowed multiple fouls to go unpunished all game by Crystal Palace. In the first half, Joachim Andersen and Jordan Ayew gave away multiple fouls and somehow ended the game without even a yellow card. He gave a drop ball when Everton had possession of the ball in an attacking phase to goalkeeper Vicente Guaita, and then later on when Everton had the ball in defensive possession he gave the ball to Palace.

Don’t get me started on trying to disallow one of the best footballing goals we’ve seen so far this season and for the Gordon incident. Anyone who was watching the game could see something was going to happen, and for Zaha to only get a yellow card further shows how inept the referee and Darren England who was on VAR are.

The FA need to look at themselves first before pointing their fingers at others when it comes to ‘conducting themselves in an orderly fashion’ as we have seen time and time again so far this season alone how they come out and defend their terrible referees who week in week out make constant poor decisions which ultimately leads to teams ‘losing control’.

What do you make to the FA’s latest charge?
